The travelling exhibition "Vico Magistretti. Architecture & Design" in Sydney, 2024

After the travelling exhibition celebrating the 100th anniversary of Vico's birth, Fondazione Magistretti proposes the travelling show Vico Magistretti. Architecture & Design, with the aim of promoting and enhancing the heritage left by the architect and with it Italian design and architecture.

Vico Magistretti. Architecture & Design traces the sixty-year career of the famous architect and designer, exploring in depth the two indissoluble souls of his work: architecture and design.  Drawings, plans, photographs and projects illustrate both the best-known and the lesser-known works, testifying to Magistretti's approach to urban planning and the historical-cultural context. In parallel, the exhibition celebrates Vico's industrial design through the original sketches and catalogues of products that have become icons of Italian design, such as chairs, lamps, tables, beds and bookcases.

A special focus is dedicated to the fruitful and long-standing collaborations that Magistretti forged with some of the most important Italian and international design companies, such as Artemide, Cassina, De Padova, Flou and Oluce. Developed over a period of more than fifty years, these collaborations have contributed significantly to the definition and success of Italian style in the world.
